Further to the start of our Big Day Out challenge series with Challenge 1 undertaken by Alison, our Fleet Supervisor, who bravely took on the Three Peaks Climb, our dedicated staff are now preparing to ‘Swim the the River Lee’ for Challenge 2. Sharon Sango, lead Trainer of our Driving School, and Ian Raven, CTWF Community Driver, have been diligently training over the last 6 weeks for this event where they will swim the equivalent length along the River Lee from the Ferry Boat Inn in Tottenham to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at the London Aquatics Centre on Monday 05th June.
Sharon brings her childhood love of swimming to the fore, a keen swimming competitor in her school days aquatic challenges are not new and she has successfully completed similar events here in the UK and on family holidays to the Caribbean where she would set (and excel at) personal challenges to swim between the islands of the Grenadines ‘just because she could’.
Ian has a similar love of the water and combined with the altruistic goal of the event willing teamed up with Sharon to collectively help CTWF raise awareness and funds for the Big Day out 2017. Every donation goes a long way to helping the most disadvantaged children in our communities to enjoy experiences, such as an all inclusive day at the seaside, that most people take for granted; so please support our efforts and visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SharonSango and donate what you can towards our Big Day Out Challenge.
